So far we have begun to reach out to participants in our study via mail. I have been instrumental in this process by assembling our materials and having them sent out. This week we will reach out to the participants via the phone to give an update and try to get them to respond. My advisor says that even if we send out 200 mailings we may only get 40 respondents. I am learning how it is important to evaluate having a reliable sample size. It is hard to had an accurate study and results when you end up only having a small sample.
Clinically, I have been learning a lot more about the babies we have been seeing at NYU. I have seen different degrees of troubles that they have and developmental delays that they experience. Overall this is a great program for the babies and the families. In addition, I am learning a lot about clinical psychology and the important aspects of research in this field.
